I continue to delve into the climate crisis and the effects on our planet. My latest series focuses on the concept of water.

Water’s fluidity, its ability to sustain humans, animals and vegetation, and the aesthetics of its transparency and crispness, allow me to relish in a linear cohesiveness of pattern and colour on the canvas. My particular style enables a dynamism with the subject because of its flow, that I create with my medium.

However, my concern is that water is plagued with being too little and causing droughts or too much and causing floods. Water is abused and polluted, unbalancing the ecosystem and resulting in natural life to perish. I’ve used Mangrove Forests and Volcanic eruptions to express these concerns.

I’m also inspired by imagery, such as coral and the underwater world of plants, shells, fish and kelp, which all need to be protected.

My water paintings not only represent the destruction and aftermath of disasters caused by the phenome, but also the rejuvenation of beauty thereafter.
